Małgorzata Wal is a contemporary painter blessed with imagination, who currently lives and works in her hometown of Krakow. Her imaginative portraits contrast bold colours with hidden faces, opening a fractal dialogue between the capricious and mysterious side of femininity. Wal draws on her love of original and colourful design, her years spent in Paris, and her inspiration from Frida Kahlo, Lucienne Smagala, Maggie Piu and Japanese manga. She playfully combines traditional acrylic painting techniques with acrylic pouring and other unconventional media to reveal the youthful, carefree glow of ordinary life.
