On December 5 and 6, 2024, we invite you to a program prepared as part of a unique event that will take you to the amazing world of the tradition of Krakow nativity scenes, dating back to medieval times. These colorful spectacles, once presented in churches, moved to the streets of Krakow, where they still delight the eyes of residents and tourists.

The current tradition of building Krakow nativity scenes began in the 19th century. The winter months were the time when craftsmen created these intricately decorated miniatures, which are still a symbol of Krakow Christmas. Every year, on the first Thursday of December, Krakow's nativity scene makers gather at the Main Square to present their works in front of the Adam Mickiewicz monument. These colorful, detailed nativity scenes create a unique open-air gallery, attracting numerous visitors.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to:
- build your own Krakow nativity scene
- take part in a trip along the Krakow Nativity Scenes Trail
- try traditional Krakow delicacies during the Christmas food tour!

Here is our event plan:
- Thursday - December 5 - Competition Day
10:30 *driving from under the Galaxy Hotel to the Main Square.
12:00 *participation in the parade with nativity scenes
13:00 *show of Krakow legends
14:00 *break for lunch and free time
16:30 *tour on the Trail of Krakow Cribs
return to Galaxy Hotel
- Friday - December 6
10:00 *drive to the crib making workshop (leaving from under the Galaxy Hotel)
10:30 *meeting with the master of Cracovian cribs in his workshop, learning about the secrets of crib making, the history of the tradition and its importance for the creators
11:30 *workshop - building your own cribs under the supervision of the master
15:00 *Christmas food tour, during which you will be able to taste traditional Christmas delicacies
18:00 *free time at the Christmas market, where you can buy unique gifts and feel the atmosphere of Christmas
return to Galaxy Hotel
